The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers into the community.
SASSA might be rendering solutions like new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency claimed it is alarmed with regard to the substantial quantity of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The aim on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a superior quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no absolutely functional office dedicated to service the area on a regular basis. The assistance point produced for intervention encounters a large here influx of likely beneficiaries, which makes it hard for that office to attend to all people who check out a service point.
